🌟Weekly Bright Bites🌟
Hi there,

I am Rae- a former early years teacher and foundation stage leader with over 25 years experience and a mother of 3 boys. I am passionate about sharing practical, playful ideas that help children grow and thrive.
Each Bright Bite I share, comes from a love of learning and a belief that every child’s journey is built on small, joyful steps.
🌟This week’s Bright Bites🌟
Here are your first bite-sized set of ideas to try this week- simple, fun ways to support your child’s all round development:
👉Practice naming feelings together. Use a mirror or photos and say “Can you show me your happy face? Your sad face?” You can also name your own feelings. “I feel proud of you for helping me tidy up.” Helping your child see and name feelings builds self-awareness and empathy.

🗣️Communication and Language🌟
👉Encourage your child to tell you about their day by asking simple open-ended questions like: “What was your favourite thing you did today?”“Tell me about something that made you happy today.” Even if they only share a word or two, these chats help build language skills and show them that their stories matter!
📚Literacy🌟
👉Read a short story together, pause to ask what they think will happen next. Let them help turn the pages and point out pictures. These simple moments build early reading confidence and see that stories are full of wonder and imagination. If they pick up the same book again and again that is great! It shows they are remembering the story and feeling sure of themselves.

🔢Mathematics🌟
👉Turn tidy-up time into a counting game. Count how many blocks go back in the box or how many steps it takes to walk to the kitchen. Everyday counting builds a strong sense of numbers and problem-solving
🌎Understanding the World🌟
👉Go on a mini nature walk to see what you can spot - birds, bugs, clouds or flowers. Chat about the weather: is it sunny, rainy or windy today? This helps your child feel curious and excited to explore.

🎨Expressive Arts and Design 🌟
👉Set up a little creative space with finger paints, stickers or recycled materials. Let them choose what to create - its about enjoying the process! This helps them feel proud of their ideas.
🏃♀️Physical Development🌟
👉Create a mini obstacle course indoors or outside - use pillows or boxes to crawl over, under and around. This helps them feel strong and capable.

Each Bright Bite is a small step on your child’s journey. I’ d love to hear how they’re working for you, or any little stories you’d like to share.
Feel free to hit reply anytime - I’m here to help you and your little ones grow and thrive.
PS: Look out for your next Bright Bite soon - I can’t wait to share more!
Warmly,
Rae 🌟Bright Bites🌟
